PABLUM FOR BREAKFAST

The 90210 channel -- oh sorry, SOAPNET -- is my viewing of choice when I am eating breakfast before work and am not entirely awake.  Honestly, was BEVERLY HILLS 90210 ever really good, ever?!? Growing up roughly at the same time as the characters, I remember only watching it to make fun of it or to enjoy the hotness of the always underrated Brian Austin Green.  What is the nostalgic appeal of this show besides as something not too taxing on the brain to have on while eating Just Bunches?  Or is that its' entire appeal, as moving wallpaper?

How fucking dare you?! Yes, the show was shit, but if BH 90210 gave us ANYTHING, it was the hotness of Luke Perry. God, Dylan McKay was the moodiest teenager since Jim Stark. Sadly, Shannon Doherty was no Natalie Wood.

I also recall you making fun of the fact that a certain boyfriend of mine at the time shared the dress sense of BAG. Does this mean that you secretly had the hots for my man?

Jen, there are vast swathes of 90210 without Luke Perry -- or Shannon Doherty, for that matter. Episode after episode centering on Donna, Valerie and interchangeable himbos such as Vincent Young or Jamie Walters. 90210 continues long past it's sell-by date; in fact, it is still running today in the form of the even more rubbish new series!

As for that ex of yours -- he was more Phil Mitchell than David Silver. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Those vast swathes sans Luke Perry are the reasons why I stopped watching that show.

I do not agree that my ex was more Phil Mitchell; Grant maybe, Phil never. Especially after Steve McFadden was caught dogging while wearing his pirate's wig from panto. I (Captain) kid you not!

The Luke Perry-less episodes are sorta fascinating to watch casually, as you see forgotten actors parade across the screen, all of whom were most definitely NOT the next Luke Perry! Remember Vincent Young, Jamie Walters or the guy Andrea Zuckerman married?
